Familysearch itself reveals a baptism at Caversham, Oxon. 30 June 1603,son of
Edward Stevens & Ann Creme[sic]. [No source info] This contradicts both the
above & the 6 Nov.1603 date in the book.
Another baptism is that at Margate, Kent on 30 Jan.1603,son of Richard Steven
(!)Source=Patron Sheets,1969-91
Several other Johns were baptized or born that year or thereabouts in England.
Another was:
John Stevens ,born abt 1603, Llebourn,Mealemore[Liborne or Manor of Ledburn,
Mentmore-see genuki] Parish, Bucks. (Marriage to "Mrs.John Stevens" mentioned)

p.31 Notes for Nathaniel19Stephens (b.abt1591?),son of Thomas Stephens of
Lypiatt
Married Elizabeth Tyringham. Both Burke's Landed Gentry & Sir Thomas Phillipps'
Stephens Pedigree give two sons. The elder was Edward, if Burke's is correct,
and the younger was Tyringham Stephens, of the Castle, near Leicester,
Archdeacon of Leicester, married firstly Isabel(d.abt.1688),4th daughter of
George Rayson of Leicester. He married secondly,Millicent(d.23 Nov
1731),daughter of William Inge, of Thorpe Constantine, Staffs., and was buried
21 June 1710 having by her had issue six sons and several daughters (Burke's L.G.).
Sir Thomas Phillipps shows: Tyringham, Thomas, Richard, Millicent & Nathaniel as
children & indicates that Nathaniel married (Gloucestershire Pedigrees). Burke's
states that Thomas was the 3rd son,b.10 Jan.1679,and married hannah,daughter of
Francis Warde of Leicester,& d.2 Jan.1767 having had issue, two sons & four
daughters (Burke's L.G.-Sir Thomas P.does not extend his tree to Thomas's
children). The elder son was John Stephens of St.Martin's,Leicester(b.10 Jan
1707)married Elizabeth, daughter of John Barfoot of Evington, Leicestershire,
and d.15 Nov.1782, leaving issue four sons, of whom the youngest was Richard
Stephens b.28 June 1745 ,who married Alice, daughter of Rev. John lettice, B.A.,
Vicar of Boseate, and Rector of Strixton, Northamptonshire and d.11 Aug.1810

[At this point details become more lengthy & less linear to cope with 2 lines.
Last mentioned is Martin Tyringham Stephens DFC(1941),Assistant Editor of "The
Field", Squadron Leader RAFVR, served in WW2,b.29 Nov 1901,killed in action 13
Feb 1942"and succeeded by his kinsman". Other refs. show later members of
family, but I think this line has waned recently.]
On Sir Thomas Phillipps' tree in "Gloucestershire Pedigrees" Mary Stephens who
married Robert Uvedale is shown as daughter of Edward. The two sets of data on
p.31 contradict each other, one showing Mary as daughter of Nathaniel. See
