Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is a great choice in replacement of floor coverings.

The look of wood or tile offers a number of choices. It is tuff, easy to clean and is installed without the hassle that tile or wood flooring has.

I have had it in my home for over years. It has held up to a Chow, a German Shepard, and now two Great Danes. I am always sliding furniture around on it and it still looks great.

Not all laminate flooring is created equal. I only like to use the better laminates from Armstrong & Pergo. If you have heard someone say it did not hold up, it was most likely a cheaper product. If something was to happen to one of the boards I can unlock the floor, replace the damaged board and never loose the whole floor.

As a rule of thumb the price would be around $5 to $6 per square foot, installed. Most rooms take just one day.

Hardwood Flooring

Real Hardwood Flooring has to be placed in the home about two weeks before installing to cure. After installing, the floor needs to set for another week before finishing. A sealer coat is applied on the first day of the finishing process. then the next two days two other coats are applied. You will not want to sleep in the house during the finishing process due to the smell. It is a lot of trouble, but when finished, the floors are something to be proud of. (if you don't have pets)
